Yucaipa sits in a valley at the foot of the San Bernardino Mountains, at about 2,600 feet, just east of my Redlands office. Its name comes from the Serrano place name Yukaipa't, and it became an incorporated city in 1989.

Yucaipa homes range from older properties on larger lots to planned neighborhoods like Chapman Heights, developed in the 1980s and 1990s on former citrus groves. Views, yards and outdoor space are often a big part of the appeal here, so the listing has to show them.
